Are there limits for message_data in transactional emails?

Reviewing the documentation about transactional email API, I don’t see any limits mentioned for the message_data field; I want to confirm there are no limits to the number of keys or the length of their values. We plan to send about ~40 attributes in that field, some of them probably more than 1000 bytes long each.

I ask because I know there are limits for the Objects and Relationships data.

Hi @carlos_ps !

Per our API documentation, we don’t have a hard limit in place for the message_data field of the Transactional API endpoint: https://docs.customer.io/api/app/#operation/sendEmail.

The limit for this is only for the attachment size (if any).

However, we do recommend testing this with your intended to payload to ensure that it works as expected! If you have any other questions, please feel free to get in touch!

Best,

Penny
