Question

Using Custom Object attributes with liquid if customer does not have a relationship

I want to use custom objects to store data about upcoming events and then reference them in my emails dynamically. Is it required to create a relationship for every customer or can I just reference them in the email?

Collections are probably the way you want to go. They were made for things lik events. Custom objects are better suited when there is a relationship involved. (I'm making the assumption this is for invites, not specific registrations) https://docs.customer.io/journeys/collections/

You can’t reference collections in a broadcast/newsletter either.

You could always send it using a campaign. Not necessarily what they were built for but work arounds are made with automation all the time. Not sure if that’s the right answer in your case, but there are usually a few ways to get the job done.

I haven’t figured out a way to schedule a campaign to run during certain days/hours yet. I would also like to limit the rate that certain campaigns send.
