What if you wish to change your domain link tracking from a specified domain to the default link tracking offered by Customer.io? However, the twist in the tale is, you do not want to lose the tracking data of the emails sent previously.

Solution

Fret not! It is possible by maintaining your CNAME record and reverse proxy and then changing the Host Name to something else via the Customer.io interface and verifying it. This method tricks the system into believing a new CNAME record is in use, without affecting the tracking of previously sent emails. Here's how to go about it.

1. Maintain your CNAME record and reverse proxy.

2. Change the Host Name in Customer.io interface to something else (anything will do!).

3. Verify the new Host Name.
