Using customer.io smtp

Is there a way I can use transactional emails of customer.io with an smtp integration?

For e.g.: Another platform offers me to use the email service with any smtp configuration. How can I do this with customer.io smtp?

Hi @Tomas I’m afraid at the moment, Customer.io does not provide an SMTP server. Without your own SMTP server, the default option for sending emails from Customer.io would be via a verified sending domain: https://customer.io/docs/journeys/authentication/.

Sorry I don’t have better news for you on this front today.

Hi @Tomas,

You can set up using Custom SMTP for sending of emails from Customer.io by following the steps outlined in our documentation here: https://customer.io/docs/journeys/use-your-smtp-server/.

Just a quick note that if you’re using Custom SMTP - it would be for all of your outgoing emails so it wouldn’t be possible to mix using your verified sending domain for marketing emails and custom SMTP for transactional emails only.

Hope this helps to clarify and get you moving along in the right direction!
