Hi, found in the documentation this:

“We also recommend that you avoid using spaces, periods or special characters in attribute names, because it can make it hard to reference your attributes with liquid.”

But will this be true for attribute values? Can we use spaces and special characters there? Thank you.

Hi @Anna Tori 👋

Aaron here from the Customer.io Support Team, and I’d be happy to help. This is a great question!

Unlike Attribute Names, the Attribute Values can contain spaces. Essentially, the values are just text strings, so they can contain as much text (and spaces!) as you need. The Attribute Names should not contain spaces because they are variables, and having spaces in their names make them more difficult to reference in your messages.

I hope that helps to clear things up for you, Anna! If you do have any further questions please feel free to let us know in the comments or consider opening a support ticket with us. Cheers!
