I inserted unsubscribe link into my footer but it doesnt work. I cant figure out why.
Is it because the template is not linked to any contact database yet?

Can you please confirm what you used for your unsubscribe link? In the past, we have heard of a similar issue from other customers and the issue ended up being a hardcoded unsubscribe link, rather than our supported tags or our new subscription center tags.
Yes, I used a correct link but I found out what the issue was.
Since the broadcast was not yet linked to a contacts database then the test emails were not functioning properly. When I added a test database with all required fields linked in the email template only then the test emails worked correctly and the unsubscribe link as well.
