I’m currently running a notification workflow called “Events” to inform all active users about upcoming happy hours and events. This campaign reaches over 1,000 users each time it’s triggered.
Based on the platform guidelines, I understand that object and relationship campaigns won’t create journeys when the trigger event exceeds 1,000 people. I’ve reviewed the recommendations to refine the audience, but in this case, the broad reach is intentional, as the notifications are relevant to all active users.
I wanted to check if anyone else has encountered this issue:
• Have you found a workaround for campaigns exceeding 1,000 users?
• Is there a better way to structure this type of automation without losing the intended reach?
Would love to hear any insights or experiences from others in the community!

Hi Emilio,
Ramy here from the Customer.io Technical Support team; happy to lend a hand here!
If we are, then I’m afraid it is not possible to work around that limit of triggering 1000 journeys upon an object change. Can you kindly elaborate more on your use case of objects here, and how 1000 profiles could be related to one object and need to be notified when that one object updates? We could then help take a look over your use case to see if it could be better optimized.
Alternatively, I would highly recommend looking into Segment-Triggered Campaigns, and Event-triggered Campaigns as alternative workflow triggers since you expect to message this large number of people regularly, as both are usually a better fit; moreover, maybe API-Triggered Broadcasts could also be a solution here.

The Campaign is Segment-Triggered, they are all users who have part of the segment “Completed Onboarding”. I understand that then all users who are part of this segment should go through the workflow, however, I see that some users don’t re-enter the campaign. I think it might be due that I’ve change the frequency to “Every re-match” back to “At Fixed Intervals”. Could this be the issue and if so is there a fix for this?
Thank you for the clarification! Yes, since this is a Segment-triggered campaign, those journeys not starting as expected are most likely not starting because of the change in the Frequency Setting while the campaign is live. If you review our Making Changes to Live Campaigns doc, specifically, this case with this change:
Every re-match to At fixed intervals: Only new people who match your settings will restart. This does not apply to people who have already been through the campaign
The profiles that had entered and exited the campaign while the Frequency Setting is “Every re-match” will only re-enter according to that setting. What we can do from our side is to force all profiles in your workspace to evaluate against your current campaign conditions.
For context, everybody who currently matches the conditions when the tool is run and doesn't have an active journey will get a new journey in accordance with the campaign's current frequency setting. Since I understand it is currently set to “At fixed Intervals”, when the force match is done, anyone who has already left will be scheduled to enter at the next instance of the interval from their original entry time. !-->!-->
If this is alright, kindly let us know with a confirmation and share the URL to your Campaign workflow so we can run the tool from our side, Emilio.
Coming back after a month as I see old users are not joining the campaign. These users who have seen the campaign in the past (3 months ago) and are matching the condition for the campaign are not re-joining the campaign. I think this is because you haven’t made the fix as mentioned above right?
