My old account seems to be gone and I can't log in, so I've re-registered an account. May I ask what's going on here?

it might be that the trail expired and CIO deleted your account. Have you checked your spam folder? There should be an email with a notification. CIO does not have a free tier.
In case you are paying for two accounts now, I definitely advise you to contact the support via email. You can do so by clicking on the question mark icon on the upper right part in your account.
