Target users based on their zip code

We’d like to advertise events to users who a located in proximity of these events.
Assuming we know the zip code of the users (and the zip code of the event), can we easily make a segment of all users within 50 miles of the event?
If not, are there alternative options to segment users by location?

Very grateful for your input. Thank you.

Hi Valerie,

Great question. Customer.io does not currently store geo-location data specific to delivery information. We do have an active feature request to expose this data though I don't have any additional information to share regarding the timeline or roadmap priority of this feature at this time.

In the meantime, we offer localization based on uploaded customer attributes:

I hope my answer was helpful. Please let us know if any further questions arise.

Have a great day!

Hello there,

when I was reading your question I was thinking you could have some kind of reference table as e.g. a collection. For every event location you could specific zip codes that are in “the range”. Maybe there is already a list online? (I am not sure in which country you operate).

Also depends a bit on your number of event locations. Sounds like a lot of work 😀

Hope that helps,

Felix

That’s a very interesting way of thinking about it. I’ll explore. Thank you.
