In this guide, we will address an issue that has been prevalent among some users dealing with deep linking in applications using Customer.io. Specifically, the matter under review involves the use of images and regular buttons for deep linking in apps.

Problem

Essentially, the problem at hand occurs when one tries to deep link images directly into their application. It seems the functionality that allows HTML buttons to apply deep linking is not available for regular buttons or images. 

Solution

Our technical support team has identified the root of this problem. It occurs due to the link tracking applied to the images and regular buttons.
